Andy,
I've never had any dealings with Baz but have heard nothing but praise! However he is "Old School" and I say that without any slur, it is however such well intentioned collectors and dealers, who got together pre 1970s and complied their lists based on what they and their fellow collectors thought at the time were the real thing! I am pretty sure that had this Forum been around then, then there would be a fraction of the reproduction badges and pure and simple fakes in circulation as there are today!

I like it every bit as much as the t'other.

Economy badges came about due to a shortage of nickel did they not? - with an added benefit that badges of one metal type were easier/cheaper to manufacture. This would fit into that category.

I suppose you'll be telling me that there isn't an economy version of the West Yorkshire or West Riding as well ;o

cheers,

Andy C
No West York's Economy I'm afraid.

Andy,

Each to there own when deciding what to collect, I personally wont be adding a Yorkshire Regiment (Green Howards) di-stamped gilding metal cap badge to my Green Howards collection.

Cheers,
Marcus
