Hi Stanley, to answer your request I would say that the first one is the East Riding Yeomanry (Churchill & Westlake #108), 1920-1956 or about.
The second one looks a lot like the Hertfordshire Yeomanry (C & W #80), although the "ground" is a somewhat different. Maybe a difference due to the maker and the period it was made?
Hoping I'm right and that's helping you.
Cheers
Jo

Default SA general service badge

It changed from Dutch to Afrikaans in 1927 so this badge is pre '27, though they were used for years afterwards with the old spelling. The Dutch was "Eendrag Makt Macht" and the Afrikaans was "Eendrag Maak Mag".

More funny animals. In fact, quite apart from whatever regiment or unit this might represent, what sort of animal is it supposed to be? it looks like a cross between a horse, a lion, a dragon and a dog.

Stanley, that is the ugliest Warwickshire Yeomanry collar badge I have seen up to now. It looks at first glance like an animal with a goat's head with kangaroo feet.

Stanley, It is supposed to be a Bear. It is C&W # 142. The Royal Warwickshire Regiment: Early pattern, Gilding Metal.

Jo, The Warwickshire Yeomanry collar badge C&W #57 is a little different than the Warwickshire Regiment collar C&W # 142.

Jo,

I prefer if you sit corrected, it's more informal and more comfortable

Cheers, Michael

I thought it was a lion with a (bearded) horses head, posing as a bear-and-ragged-staff.

Does anyone have any idea what this cloth badge represents - is it, for example, a trade badge?
