Default Military show at Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum, Hamilton Airport,ON

I wanted to post this again, this time in the Canadian section to see if I could get some feedback from our Canadian members that might have attended or know about this show from the past:

Can any of our Canadian members comment on this military show?
I have never attended it but I do know that this was the show that was in conflict with the CSMMI show at St Catharines last year.

Is it a show worth attending & do medal/badge/militaria dealers attend it?

Military Fair Saturday 28 May 2011, 0900-1600 hrs at the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum, Hamilton Airport, 9280 Airport Road, Mount Hope, Ontario, Canada. This is an "all ages" event in support of the Museum, with something for everyone: featuring military collectables, military vehicles, military aircraft, re-enactors, authors, etc.

Here is the blurb from the website:

The Military Fair encompases everything military from all different time periods.
Each show features military aircraft, vehicles, several time period living history groups (re-enactors) along with a number of different associations and museums.
A big part of the show are the quality displays put on by private collectors of their collections giving vistors a chance to see items seldom encountered.
Visitors will have the opportunity to speak with various authors and purchase copies of their books signed. A large number of Ontario's best militaria dealers will be on hand selling everything from medals to machine guns and everything in between.
Show Dates - Sat May 28, 2011
Sat Sep 24, 2011

Thanks, Bryan

Last year was the first time there was a show there at the airplane museum, which was well attended + all the tables were full with different types of militaria even with the CSMMI show the same day.I attended both shows that day + the show at the airplane museum was far better. The CSMMI show is medals + badges, with a few other items. The one at the airplane museum had a few dealers with medals + badges but with this years show not conflicting with the CSMMI show the dealers who were set there will be at the airplane museum selling there medals + badges.

I too was at both shows last year. For me, the Hamilton show was a total waste of time in respect of my area of collecting. Having said that, I found a few interesting tables with books, "Home front" items, and even instruments but the assortment of badges was very poor. Just my 2cents worth!.........David J.

As promised in previous post I will attach some photos taken at this show. I found it a reasonably good show with some super displays & many re-enactors dressed in period uniforms which I photo'd & will show here..

The displays in my opinion made the show well worth attending!

These two are a general view of the hanger.........

WWII & 1950'a period RCAF Radio Communications display......

This was a super display & the two collectors dressed in the RCAF uniforms really knew their stuff.

An RCAF Uniform display & I think either a Spitfire or Hurricane as a backdrop.

WWI Scottish display & re-enactor in period uniform.....

& a Sergeant in CEF Uniform (dont think all that accurate as the Serg't insignia appears to WWII or 1950's period to me, & the RCR cap badge &collars are certainly later period also)....

& another shot of a CEF uniform....
