Default Advice requested from experienced badge collectors

Hello, My name is Ian and I dare say you can guess i am brand new to this!! Anyway, I would like to ask for some serious advice regarding a badge collection please. I am here on behalf of my father in law who inherited a collection of British Army badges off his father (An ex RSM from the RA) about ten years ago. There are about 350 badges in total, some of which I know to be genuine articles, some restrikes and some I believe may be fakes.

My father in law is now looking to downsize to a bungalow and has asked me to identify a value for the badges and the best way to sell them. Therefore, I would be most grateful for any advice that members may give me to assist me to sell these items and get best value for my father in law?

Regards

Ian

Smile badges

Could you possibly put a selection up on the forum for members to see what items you have to sell?

If you do this you'll get alot of good advise on what you have, and good and fair prices on the items. A dealer will have to get his cut, which will come out of your pocket!

Regards,

Dave

Yes i would photograph everything and put them on this Forum. I would have thought you would get far better prices from the people from this Forum. If you had someone coming round to yours, to view the collection you would only have their word against many from this forum. You could even try EBay.
All the best.
