Default Australian Rifles Badge

Can anyone elaborate on this badge please?

It is referred to as the Australian Rifles Badge (pic enclosed).

Thank you

It's not a military badge.

Possibly a sweetheart badge.

I'm not sure what Tasmanians would have to say about that interpretation of the map of Australia!

Perhaps Tasmania has annexed the rest of the country?

Hi lionheart
It’s not military but I think it’s an association type badge for the NRA of Australia or the SSAA. Something along those lines.
If you Google the ssaa their logo is very similar. I think circa 1960-70s

I think it's a fantasy badge.

I can guarantee you that it's not military.

Mick is absolutely correct. It is not the Australian Rifles, or any other Australian military unit. The Australian Rifles was the 4th Battalion. The centrepiece of the badge was a Waratah flower above IV, with scrolls around the bottom and sides. Will post a photo soon

The badge pictured on ebay is mistitled.

Cheers
Chris
