Default Foreign Service Helmet Badges

A small selection of badges, cloth and metal won on the pagri or pugaree of the helmet around World War One.

Left to right;- Brecknockshire Bn, South Wales Borderers, 4th Bn, Somerset Light Infantry, Dorset Regiment, Duke of Wellingtons Regt.

That D of W in a crescent looks unusual, I've never seen one of those illustrated before.

Jon,

Excellent photographs, thanks for showing them, a reference album of these and similar photographs would be a good asset in my opinion, not sure if it would be possible for Members to add there own images and build up the Regiments represented in one central reference?

Pagri flashes are an area I have recently begun to study and collect as well.
I too would like to see more of these on this forum and have signed on to the other collectors group.
I am finding that there is not much information regarding Pagri flashes out there. I have gleaned most of what I know from photos on the web etc.
What I have learned so far is that they range from scarce to rare and tend to be rather expensive.
The Dukes flash shown is very strange. This regiment seems to have had a variety of flashes over the years, unlike the Lancashire Fusiliers for example, who seem to have worn the same style of flash from the very early 1900s into ww2.
