Default Militaria No 393 Juin 2018

Received today, Militaria No 393 contains one of the last of our articles on the Yeomanry in the Second World War: Ayrshire (151 and 152 Ayrshire Yeomanry) Fd Regts RA, Leicestershire (153 and 154 (Leicestershire Yeomanry) Fd Regts RA with the Shropshire Yeomanry to follow. In this case our thanks to, inter alia, M Danin, J Mills and G Morgan-Jones as well as many French collectors. This series started in Miliaria No 298 - so 28 parts in 95 months. It's exhausting! Mike

Many thanks. I'll pass on your message to my estimable co-author in Brittany who does all the hard work. We still have this idea of persuading the publishers of Militaria to republish the Yeomanry series as one volume in both languages (but don't hold your breath). What came out of these years of study was the quite remarkable WW2 record of some of the Yeomanry regiments. A few such regiments left their regular Army counterparts in the shade. I'm thinking of, for example, the Staffordshire Yeomanry - from horsed cavalry in Syria to DD tanks in NW Europe and of course my Regiment - the Surrey Yeomanry - 98 Army Fd Regt RA from BEF to the Baltic via el Alamein and Italy.

A single volume would be great, especially considering I stopped subscribing to Militaria at some point when there was a gap in the Yeomanry series, and so missed the last few instalments.

Hi Mike, how about, as an alternative, putting all your armoured articles, RTR, converted infantry and the yeomanry into one book? I think that may be a winner with the present interest in all things armoured, best wishes to you and Robert for all your endeavours, Mike

Thanks - that makes sense. I'll pass on your suggestion to RleC. Mike

Default Militaria magazine 393

Hello Mike,
I have a lot of interest in the article about 151 Ayrshire as the fought in the village were I live in south of Holland.
Is this the English version of the magazine. Who is the publisher?
I can find the French version with Maquisards on the cover, but I prefer english.

I regret there is no longer an English language edition. There was apparently insufficient demand. Vive la France! Mike
