Default French Navy Bachi Bullion Badge - WWII FNFL?

Can anyone confirm what period this French Bachi bullion badge is likely to be from? It doesn’t look like WWII items I have seen, but doesn’t look like the ‘more modern’ ones either.

Thanks
Paul

Can't help you about the arm badge but BTW "Bachi" is the naval slang name given to French sailor's hat/cap.........

It seems that your bachi is not that old.The French navy quit wearing the dk blue one in winter and now wear the white-top bachi year round. From what I have read on different french forum, your bachi could still have been worn until about 10 years ago......

Hello btns
I have been slow coming to this thread - the photograph of your Bachi badge is very interesting. Can you recall if it was fine thread or thicker bullion thread - it looks very fine in the image.
Regards
Mike

Hi Mike,
It was sold for GBP 6, one bidder only.
Unfortunately I do not recall if it was bullion thread.
Attached is a cut out of my low resolution pictures.
I hope it helps.

Hello Bts,

For this time period, the two first digits of this sailor ‘matricule’ written in white inside your sold bachi give the year when this man entered in the french navy. Can’t see the first digit, only «*x6*», but likely 66 or 76, so 1966 ou ..76.

Cheers,

JD
