Hi Paul,
it looks like an early RAF cap badge. I have several pictures and drawings from Osprey's British Air Forces (2) showing men of the RAF and women of WRAF in early 1918 wearing it. It looks like this cap badge was worn by some non flying personel (ground crews, bandsmen, etc...). I say by some because I have a Sister from RAF Nursing Service and an Assistant Administrator Grade 9 with the famous officer's like bullion one and a sub-Leader WRAF immobile Branch with the one you posted. But it is 100% RAF! This asked to be confirmed as my reference books on that topic are unfortunately too few! Last edited by L&BH; 14-03-09 at 11:05 PM. |

IMCO,dispite the occasional opinions to the contrary, this is an early RAF badge only, not RNAS.
