Royal Armoured Corps bands
Hi Guys,
From Wikipedia: The Heavy Cavalry and Cambrai Band - represents the constituent regiments of The Royal Dragoon Guards, Queens Dragoon Guards, Royal Scots Dragoon Guards and the Royal Tank Regiments, and was formed in 2006 by the amalgamation of the Band of the Dragoon Guards and the Royal Tank Regiment Cambrai Band. The Light Cavalry Band - this band represents the regiments of Light Dragoons, Kings Royal Hussars, Queens Royal Hussars, Queens Royal Lancers and 9th/12th Lancers, and was formed in 2006 by the amalgamation of the Band of the Hussars and Light Dragoons and the Band of the Royal Lancers. These bands were merged in 2014 to form a single united band of the RAC. Does anyone know what badge is worn post amalgamation by The Band of The Royal Armoured Corps? Mick

Hello Mick,
Please excuse my lack of knowledge, by Band do you mean Musicians or the badge ? if Musicians I have no idea but the badge is 72mm by 56mm and I have been told that this is only a Helmet Plate Centre ??? Dave.

All bands wear the CAMUS cap badge except in full dress uniform. Search out the British Army website.

Thanks Alan.
That's a shame really - more regimental and corps tradition down the drain. Mick
