The badge represents Pegasus and the sea, symbolic of the airborne and amphibious nature of the Force's operations. The Force was raised in the summer of 1944 and was based at Bari in Italy. Its primary task was to aid partisans under Tito in Albania, Bosnia and Montenegro. The Force was disbanded in June 1945. (Cole 1973 p.109).
