Default WRAC and PROVOST Title

I have been researching to find out if the WRAC ever wore the red and black PRVOST title like he ATS wore? I know there were WRAC ladies assigned to the RMP, but can't find out if they ever wore that title.

Thanks,

Terry

From what I recall the WRAC attached to the RMP did not wear a shoulder title (PROVOST) but wore the red top to their "No2 Dress" and later I think they wore the RMP red beret.
If they wore the RMP cap badge later I am not sure.

Checked Redcap Insignia and collectables by Colin Carnall -any thing and every thing regarding Red Caps One picture shows A T S provost NCO with MP red letters arm band and looks like shoulder title but difficult to make out A book worth looking at for A T S insignia pages / pages of badges and information
Just for interest the-the Allied Expeditionary Force [SHAEF] shoulder flash was designed by ATS corporal 23 years old Doreen Goodhall
Nothing re W R A C AND S/T ,but says the forage red cap adopted by WRAC Provost latter part of 1965 W R A C badge worn , no mention of side cap

Terry,
Photo taken in BAOR (Germany) 1958 shows a VW Beetle clearly marked WRAC PROVOST. I think the NCOs are wearing PROVOST titles on khaki Battle Dress.

Wow! Great information!!! Thank you all.

One thing I notice is that the arm bands look dark and the MP letters look light - the red letters on a black arm band as Shiny shows on page 3 of his CMP/RMP album, and says worn 1940-1960. So this gives us an idea of the date of the photos 1949-1960.

Thanks again all,

Terry

The Singapore version was locally made. The photo appeared in Soldier Magazine in 1962.

Looking at the image in post 6, it looks like the shoulder designation folded into a curved slip on. There is plenty of material there for this to be done.

Marc, that curved PROVOST title is the issue one worn by the ATS during the war, and we now know they wore it for some time period in the WRAC. It comes in the curved format

I just acquired the one above of these for my ATS collection, and very happy to have it.
