In the west..........sorry John, could not resist. Possible in Lancaster as there is a red rose. Found this-Western Command Weapon Training School at Altcar, near Liverpool.

Altcar, near Formby, Lancashire according to the IWM.

Confirmed in the book "Altcar-The story of a Rifle Range" by Col.A.L.M.Cook T.D. page 60.
"During the second world war Altcar became the Western Command Weapon Training School......................." Altcar is to the North of Liverpool and South of Formby and is in West Lanacashire. P.B.
