The Loyals Regiment
Hello!
I'm new on this forum and this is my first post there. I'm interested in military history of the Triest region. After the end of WWII there were stationed also british troops. On the web pages of Life I found some interestig photos. There states that they show the soldiers of the Loyals regiment in Triest. My attraction was attracted by the formation sign on their battledress blouses. It is neither the formation sign of 13th Corps nor the sign of 24th Infantry Brigade. Can you help me to find out what formation sign they are wearing. I will be thankful for any information. Thanks, Sebastijan

Hello Sebastijan, welcome to the Forum.I have taken the liberty of including another photograph, of a Sgt. of the Lancashire Fusiliers, with the same badge.

Lancastrian Training Brigade Group
It is the badge of the Lancastrian Training Brigade Group formed in 1947 comprised of the following:
King's Own Royal Regiment (Lancaster) Border Regiment King's Regiment (Liverpool) Lancashire Fusiliers (later transferred to the Fusilier Brigade) Manchester Regiment East Lancashire Regiment South Lancashire Regiment Loyal Regiment (North Lancashire) The badge was worn from 1947 - c1962

Sebastijan, an interesting photograph, when was it taken? My Father who was in 13 Corps was in Trieste around 1945.
