Default Military Badge screw earrings

Hi, I have a pair of screw earrings, we think circa 1950s. Came from my Great Aunty who lived in Hong Kong. Have searched for the regiments badge, with no luck. Hope someone can shed some light on them. Many thanks. Heather

Hi Heather, I suspect that this item doesn't have a military connection, certainly nothing that I recognise. I don't believe that I have seen anything with a crown of that design before - it may just be a fashion item. That said, why would you wear something that looks like some sort of crest if you had no connection to it?
The torch at the centre is often associated with learning. Was she involved with a school of any sort? Just my thoughts, Regards, Craig

Have found photos of a few similar style brooches on-line (different crests and different coloured torches).

They are simply describes as "reversed intaglio " style , possibly Victorian era.

"VINTAGE 3PC VICTORIAN JEWELRY SET Features : Glass reverse intaglio with a painted crest center Griffin accents Set includes a pair of clip on earrings, brooch and bracelet Brooch"
