Default The Buffs badge

Hi all!

I would like to ask about the originality of this badge. If original, it looks like it once had a slider, which was replaced by this pin?

Thanks in advance!

Regards, Giorgos

Hi Giorgos,
as you say badge looks original with the slider replaced by a brooch pin.
I have a Buffs badge with its lugs replaced with a slider!
Regards Tony.

Default Buffs

From the front it looks like it has been gilded, a sweetheart brooch for someone in the past.

Thank you very much for all replies!

I understand that the badge must be a '30s or ww2 era piece? Plus, since the time the conversion took place is unknown, would this devalue its collectibility? (not monetarily)

Regards, Giorgos

I can't imagine it being quite as desirable as a fully intact badge; they are not scarce or hard to come by, but to the 'right' Buffs collector or sweetheart brooch enthusiast, it may be of interest.

Just my opinion of course.

Peter.
