Default New badges for the collection

Good morning,
I would like to share some pictures of my latest additions.
They include Guards, infantry, yeomanry and Gurkha. Please let me know if you think any are questionable.
For the Scots guards badges, is the RSM's one a different enamelled badge?
Regards
Tom.

Hello Tom
The last lot of badges some could be questionable, have you a pic of the backs? the RND Hawke badge is a known reproduction so that ones no good for sure.

The London Rifles Cadets is moody, I am sorry to say. There should be voiding around the cadet scroll. This is quite a common reproduction (what I call 'The Flat Type').

The Gurkha Rifles looks like an AMMO made badge.

Hi,
Unfortunately I have mounted these badges now so I can't get a photo of the backs, however the following badges are marked Gaunt: Queens Royal Surrey, Royal Bucks Hussars and the Fife and Forfar.
The Gurkha Rifles badge has no maker on it, can we assume then it isn't an Ammo badge?
I didn't think the Hawke badge was genuine but it's nice to have it, I doubt the other naval division badges I have are either.

Regards
Tom

Hello Tom,

You might find the following of interest. 'Gaunt' maker marks are not necessarily always a good sign (not suggesting that was your point, of course):

All the metal badges in picture 4 appear to be repro or are likely to be repro as they have been heavily restruck. I am afraid the 12th Lancers is totally wrong as the feather design is not correct for a badge worn pre 1903.

Hi Tom , the 1st Gurkhas is definitely a modern copy and I suspect the the RGR badge is also a copy the other two are probably ok. Tim

Hi Tim, I am not surprised with the 1st Gurkhas, I'm just trying to represent all 10. I'm pretty sure the RGR one is legit as it came from a Gurkha. The QOGLR is from Firmins and the other came from an AGC friend.
