Default 29th Punjabis shoulder title

Hi,
These 2 titles of shoulders were found together.
The title with the brooch is not in the book of Ashock Nath. Is it possible that it's a variant of shoulder title or only a sweetheart?
Kind regards.
Loïc

Nice titles. I suspect that the brooch fitting badge may be an interwar FS cap badge.

Agree. If by 'Ashok Nath's book' you mean his WWI badge book, be aware that both before and after the period he examines there were changes. Also, nicely made pieces like this one, possibly for an officer, might well have come in several variants, especially if produced locally in one version and in the UK another time.

If you look at Cox's book page 269, there is a badge illustrated (2420 ) that looks exactly like the numerals with the brooch fixing albeit there is a scroll below the numbers and a crown above. it might have been adapted from that badge or as others have said it could have been a badge in it's own right. At least it proves that that design of numeral was used by the regiment. Tim

Brilliant, Tim. The design with horizontal lines like this is one I'm sure |I've seen on other IA badges as well, but don't ask me which ones.

[Getting old sucks! Until you consider the alternative.]

These horizontal lines can also be found on the numbers in the Wilde's Rifles badge
