I've only just remembered, I have seen a photo of an ACF Lt Col (badged to a different regiment) wearing an OR's pattern buckled chinstrap on his forage cap.

sure, I have one for a senior officer with a buckled chin strap, it did happen

bog standard RAC / RTR beret. the badge is also black, faded round the edge.

I have only a few officers bullion badges, probably 6 or 7 more still fitted to caps & berets (a fair few more if you count German WWII collar patches & shoulder straps).
