Default Re: SAS Plates and downsize of collection

G'day lads, Circumstances are forcing me to downsize down my SAS Collection I have been collecting for twenty years including uniforms and full CQB CRW gear all from a senior SAS Officer.
Can anyone give me an idea of the value of am SAS limited edition plate as attached. I have ten different ones but have never seen them anywhere else other than with the regiment before!
Any help would be sincerely appreciated. Especially from you Johan as you know a lot of my collection, I don't want to put it on greedbay!
Cheers
Mike

No idea on values of these Mike but they must be rare and the first one commemorating WWII is a real stunner.

Default Plates

hi Mike,

I am sorry to hear your are downsizing your collection, but - as always - this is an opportunity for the collector friends to pick up some rare pieces and they will stay in the family, so to say.

It is hard to put an exact value on the plates, but they have considerable value. Certainly the first WW2 memorial place would be worth several hundred GBP.

PM me for value of insignia.

Cheers,

Johan

Thanks Mike, but I think they will be too rich for me. Great to see them though.

Cancel that last message Simon. I thought you were referring to the miniature medals. The medal ribbons came with the uniforms.
What is wrong with them?

Mike,

They are not what a Lt. Col. in the SAS would be wearing.
For instance look how the first single ribbon is just hanging loosly there, just wouldnt happen. That ribbon, what ever it is, should not be at the front of the group. The nearest ribbon I can see that it might be is "Queens Medal for Champion Shot in the RN or RM"

There are to many rosettes and two many Queens Commendations for bravery.

The last 3 are in the wrong sequence and the Saudi/Kuwait ribbons cannot be worn in service.

I just doesnt look right.

regards

Looks very unconvincing to me. Even the spacing of his rank badges looks incorrect (and what looks like a gilding metal star and a staybright crown?. And what is the formation sign or patch on the left sleeve? Mike
