A stab in the dark from me knowing not a great deal in relation to this particular badge.
From what I can see, I would say good. It appears to have a clear well defined strike both front and rear and I do like the darkened lugs, (but are they in the correct positions). I've no doubt others with a greater knowledge of this item will give a definite answer and either agree or put me right. Regards. Brian

There was, apparently a WWI variation "Steady The Buffs and let The Guards withdraw to a position of safety in the rear".
I would imagine it was a risky thing to say within earshot of a Guardsman.
