Default Kaiping Railway badge

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Kaiping-R...c27c%7Ciid%3A1

I bought an exactly similar badge from this dealer some 6 months ago. He said he had found it with a manufacturer who was getting rid of some old stock and it was seemingly unique. Now this one turns up with him. I asked him and he said the one he sold me earlier was the only one that had then turned up and this was picked up at a collectors fair last month

I certainly hope no others turn up!

Still, its a lovely badge, and even if turns out to be a lemon I really dont mind.

To quote the reply of dealer in Burma many years ago from whom I enquired about the age and authenticity of a silver betenut box he offered me : "Why not?"

Why not, indeed

I am afraid I dont see any real age to the badge shown on ebay and to me it looks modern.

I have never seen an original to compare though.
