Hi All,
Hope someone can help. I think the attached badge is a KwaZulu Police badge (old South African homeland), is it a rank or cap badge? Thanking you in advance, Neville

It doesn't look like any of the cap badges of theirs that I have. It looks like a warant officers badge to me. Regards Andrew

Hi Neville,
Any chance of a clearer pic ? I see KwaZulu badges very seldom - I guess that there were lots of juicy contracts to produce regalia, but the results never flooded onto the market like some of the others. Mike |

KwaZulu Police
Hi all,
Thanks for the help, I bought the badge and it arrived today. It is secured with 2 pins and looks like a WO rank badge so will add it to my collection as such. Will take some close up photos over the weekend and post them. Stef9633, Where did you find the photo, is there any more photos or information on "homeland" badges and if so is it possable to get some scans or copies of the information. I am finding it very dificalt to get any detail on the WO badges of the old independant/ self gov states. Thanks again for all the help, Neville

Yeah, its almost impossible to find good info on pre-94 RSA and Homeland insignia.
Dont have any documentation to support my claim on this one, the reason ive got it labelled as a WO rank is the seller on "an unnamed international auction site" labeled it as such and he has been spot on on other rare / unusual items in the past. |
