Hi,
Northern Rhodesia Regiment " Diversi Genere Fide Pares"- "Different in Race, Equal in Fidelity" - Medium 3/4" Gilt button with the badge raised in silver - worn on mess jacket & waistcoat officer's only. Occasionally used for the F.S. cap by British ranks but never so authorised. Zob. |

the Northern Rhodesia Police were initially badged with the 'Crested Crane' but with the words 'The Northern Rhodesia Police' in the scroll .. this found in cap badge and facing collars as well as buttons with crane facing either left or right like the collar badges..
the NRR adopted this badge when formed but with the Latin inscription in the scroll. other unit to have used the crested crane was the Barotse Native Police.. this cap badge excedingly rare but seen. |
