Default Queen's Lancashire Regiment

Hi All
When did the badge for the QLR change from the rose & crown in an oval with the motto "Loyally I Serve" on the scroll below, to the badge with the rose below crown (no oval) and just Queen's Lancashire on the scroll?
Thanks, cheers,
Alex

Hi Alex,

The later badge (...with the rose below crown (no oval) and just Queen's Lancashire on the scroll...) was subject to more turmoil than any other modern badge that I could find information on.

First authorised in March 2001 but argued over until February 2002 when it was to be available for a planned visit by Her Majesty The Queen as Colonel–in-Chief mid 2003.

Deleted from inventory August 2009.

Regards,

Chris
