OTC or cadet corps?

There is a subtle difference.

1940 Army List has it as a Cadet Corps which would explain why it is not in K&K's chapter on OTCs. They were RA affiliated in 1940.

Alan
If someone has a copy of Rawlings it is ref 110.
It may shed light if it is OTC or Cadets.
(I have logged mine as OTC, but confess I didn't research it).

Hi Alan,

I have had a look through my copy of Rawlings book and your badge is illustrated as #99 A S (I assume ARNOLD SCHOOL?), but doesn't state OTC or otherwise.

#96 ARNOLD HOUSE SCHOOL (LOYAL REGT), but I can see no illustration.

#97 and #98 mention ARNOLD SCHOOL / CCF cloth shoulder titles, but again no images.

I hope this is of some help,

Andy

[/URL]https://www.iwm.org.uk/memorials/item/memorial/42247

In WW1 the school was known as Arnold House School and the badge had AH in it.The badge in post 1 is missing the H so post dates the war memorial and the school was still AHS in 1923 for certain.

However it's possible that the H has been removed for the die so I am no clearer as to whether this was 1930s or 1950s but I am leaning towards post WW2 and CCF.

And here is Arnold House School Cadet Corps in 1936 when it was affiliated to the Loyal North Lancashire Regiment before the switch to the RA c. 1940.
