new here
hi all being loitering around for a while finally joined . i collect raf sweetheart brooches but have acquired these over the years . ive got a few ideas but would nice to know more about them. i believe the dehavilland bagde is a workers badge but did every worker get one? the merit wings badge has 'wings for britain all rights reserve' on the back and dont know anything about this . the raf roundel badge as silson on the badge and i am totally clueless with this one.the city of london 600 sqd. badge i particularly like its silver and the enamel is excellent but haven't seen one like it before only images of the sqd. logo. leaving the canada wings badge was this civilian or forces old /recent?

Mike, the more I read your posts, the more I am fascinated by your ability to answer so many of the member’s questions with factual evidence.
Your attention to detail in so many areas outside of “Poppy Pins” is truly remarkable. Your research seems flawless and is certainly worthy of note and must surely be of great use to many of us on this great site. I class you as a mentor, an inspiration to new collectors and a great contributor with your timely and knowledgeable posts. I think your De Havilland badge is the 20 year club and presented in 1959 to mark the occasion like this one I got with a few blue streak drawings.

superb! thanks for the info ,and once again thanks mike for the quick response too. as i keep telling my kids the internet doesn't know everything. its great to put a story to these which ive had a while.

The City of London 600 Squadron badge is probably a sweetheart for this particular squadron, which was a Reserve Squadron, formed in 1925 and in WW2 operated as a night fighter squadron. Full details are on Wikipedia. Regards. Brian |
