Default Army Catering Corps queries

I have re-carded my Army Catering Corps badges and have a couple of queries, the grey and yellow patch I have as an arm badge, the badge was attached by staples which have left the marks in the corners.

Am I correct in saying this is an arm badge?

My other query is the patch with ACC in black, is this Army Catering Corps and if so where was it worn.

Or is it Army Cyclist Corps?

Your thoughts appreciated

Rob

The ACC in black on khaki is definitely Army Catering Corps and is WW2 vintage

Cool ACC

Thanks Paul, it is not a slip-on title, but of course it could have been worn on a greatcoat as the KRRC had a similar greatcoat badge.

Default R.A.C.C.

Is this for the Royal Army Catering Corps (produced in anticipation) of being granted ROYAL status ?? Or for Australia ??

The yellow and grey patch I have seen described as a pagri badge.
Here are some of my bits

RACC was indeed an unofficial title in anticipation of the Royal title being granted.

A letter sent to all Commands in November 1947 pointed out that ‘It has been brought to notice that a number of ORs of the ACC have purchased and taken into wear Titles, Arm, Embroidered inscribed ‘R.A.C.C.’. This designation is incorrect and steps should be taken to ensure that only the approved pattern is worn.

Thanks for the informative replies and a look at Sapper 533 great collection, I was not aware of the "Royal" titles, never seen one as far as I know.

Default ACC

Jerry, there is no trace of a slip-on strap on my title, maybe it was unfinished.

Rob,
The unfinished type I’m sure is modern, I have an example myself but have no evidence it was worn stitched on BD or the like and is in my opinion a reproduction
The Gravy and Custard patch I have also and have seen in a couple of airborne dz patch collections but I would dismiss this as there is no evidence it was worn by ACC attached to airborne units and in all cases they wore the dz patch of the unit they served with. I know of one recollection from a veteran who said it was worn at the School of Catering in Duisburg in the 50’s -60’s but he thought it was a bit smaller though not so small to be an arm of service strip
Sorry I could not give you a more definitive reply
Paul
