Tank Corps WW1
Hi both different, bogey wheels to front, slider to the rear of both ( do these come with lugs? aware that lugs aren't good but is this set in stone? )
If someone has a good badge to post to assess the differences would appreciate it, many thanks Billy |

Example on the left looks brand new, my advice would be to seek a refund, not very keen on the other, to be honest.

K & K is too dark a picture, right one similar to an Officers marked Collar I have, would like to see a good one too compare against? Many thanks Billy

It should not be, in any way, similar, officers collars were die cast and very clearly, differ in size too, I would think the right example is okay, but, I would want a better one, that looks it's age, I certainly would not "discard" it.

Hi Billy, the left one has the spanner type track tensioner, which is commonly accepted as a fake. The right hand one is also faked. I believe it is based on the J&Co officer's badge and may have been used in WW1, one I have I quite like, but I also have 3 copies. Tim yours is the same as the right hand badge, best wishes Mike

I don't understand, are you saying the right hand badge, which I don't like, is an original example of a badge that has been copied, or, are you saying that particular example is a copy, perhaps you can clarify?

The right one also has 'spanner' bolts if you look carefully so I would personally avoid it.

Hi, the right hand badge I believe to be based on the J&Co badge. I have 3 examples that are copies and one that I think may be WW1 vintage. Without having one with provenance it is hard to say if they were produced in WW1 or not, hope that helps,Mike

Hi Billy
There was a resent thread on this badge with good photos with circles and arrows. Id suggest that you try to find this as it seemed to be the "Good Word" on these badges. Regards Phil. |
