Not unless you actually think it is a beautiful officers badge!

Default 4th Dragoons

I'd just like to give a different perspective to the previous posts.
As stated this is a genuine ORs cap badge which has been converted to a sweetheart by adding enamel and a brooch pin.
Someone put a lot of work into this item and it was probably worn with pride by an officers lady.
I have collected badges of the 4th Dragoons for over 25 yrs and I have never seen an enamelled cap badge before this lot appeared.
This means it is is rare or possibly unique.
The lot was on offer for 9 days and I watched with interest as 10 bidders fought it out.
In my opinion it's worth £50- £75 so when it went over £100 my hopes of purchase disappeared 😀
However I can see that a hardcore 4th Dragoons collector with deep pockets would be tempted to go for it.
I can also see why the new owner thinks they have got a unique item for their collection.
isnt that what we are all looking for??
Regards
Bob.
