Default "Service Not Self"

Picked up this badge as the motto is the same as the British Legion , made by Fattorini Birmingham.

I know some youth clubs in the region used British Legion branch premises but also found that a school 'The Crestwood School' uses the motto on their badge.

Is there a specific connection to Staffordshire ?

Default Youth club in Staffordshire

Mike
I have a couple of these as far as I am aware it is the standard Youth club leaders badge and motto refers to youth work, sadly most youth clubs are now closed.

I am not sure which BL premises were used certainly not Stone or Stafford. I was a member of Stone many years ago.

Regards

Stephen

Thanks Stephen , I thought that might be the case but was just curious if there was some special Staffordshire 'connection' to the motto.

I think the Legion "association" was more post war in some of the smaller villages where the Legion "huts" were used by various other groups (found reference to Newborough) before the Youth Clubs got their own premises.
