Default Northants TH Wright Ltd

Came across this fella today. Not a maker I have come across before. The badge is either a very dirty ww1ei or officers bronze with slider. Sadly the Sphinx has been somewhat butchered.
Thoughts please?

That’s a Smith (th) of the Smith & Wright Ltd maker mark, looks a nice badge , just dirty I think .

The sphinx has been molested - is it just the "EGYPT" lettering rubbed down?

Thank you guys. The Sphinx has been cut across wise. Not a good look as it’s back and part of its head missing

Perhaps you could show a picture of the complete badge including the "cut"

As has been said a good badge.

I have the following Smith & Wright made 1916 all GM issue badges in my collection:

East Lancashire Regiment
South Wales Borderers
Royal Welsh Fusiliers
Royal Sussex Regiment
Dorsetshire Regiment

I know Smith & Wright also made BM Devonshire Regiment badges so perhaps there is a 1916 all GM too out there. Never say never.
