Irish Volunteers
Hi have these buttons to the Irish Volunteers made by Firmin, how do I tell when these where made? Please, expect them to be 1922 onwards as still in use to the 70,s - 80,s as from a website I read? Would this be about right? Many thanks billy

Irish button
I think this is 4th Irish Dragoon Guards not Irish Volunteers.

I have a few of these, the attached image is an early example. The harp is broader and has 8 strings, the later types have 9 strings.
It is also made by Firmin. I have read that the post 1922 buttons were all Irish made until after WW2, it is suggested that this type was made between 1913-1916. |
