Default Rifle Brigade Victorian Crown - Opinions Welcome

Hello All

I have recently received the badge pictured below. I have looked at some of the posts on the forum and there seems to be doubt as to whether this style of badge was ever in use. It is a well made badge but the original fixings have been replaced by a brooch pin and someone has enamelled the front of the badge. The badge is approx 55mm tall. It is a nice piece which has some age and I may be moving it on depending on the opinions of the RB experts. Opinions welcome please.

Many thanks

Paddy

I'm no expert but I wouldn't tamper with that.
Having said that it's not mine, yours to do what you want with.
(Edit - thought you were thinking of removing the enameling - rereading you meant "moving" not "removing").
Nice badge as a sweetheart, I like it.

Leigh

Many thanks, I hadn't considered removing the enamel as although it is a bit chipped it still looks good and has that very nice aged appearance.

I fully agree with Leigh on this. Would not tamper with that. Very nice "sweetheart" as is.
