I would say it's not an original. The comical horses face and colour of the badge, slider etc.

Its a very skeletal horse too, not a good sign.

There are two versions, a thin horse and a fat horse.

Hello Kevin,
A bit late i know, Yes they are bad copies and do not be disheartened, as we all fall foul of bad dealers and badges.
It is the learning process we all have to endure, to become good collectors and to show off our excellent collections and displays.

I have added my 3 identical badges, but all original makes. You will be able to take good notes from the images and i have also added rhe 3 different versions made over their few years of existance.

1890's, c1910 and c1930's (pre WW2) It was amalgamated into the Army Veterinary Corps thereafter.
