Default Unknown Nurses and Nurses Aid

I found this picture on Pinterest and suspect it is a mother and daugher. I also suspect it is fairly current due to the mother in he red uniform. and the daughter maybe a BRCS aid or even a VAD?

Can anyone share any information on them and/or what the badges the mother is wearing.

Thanks,

Terry

Terry,
I would say they were sisters and not mother and daughter.

The nurse on the left in blue is wearing indoor uniform of a QARNNS nurse (note the crossed AA on the cap and the QARNNS belt).

The nurse in red is a typical civilian nurse uniform currently worn. Nurses in the UK can choose between wearing a tunic and trousers or a dress. The red uniform is indicative of a senior nurse. Are you able to get a clearer picture of the badge worn? It may be a hospital or nursing association badge.

Nurse colour uniforms:

Red - Senior nurse (i.e. chief nurse, deputy chief nurses, heads of nursing and site nurse practitioners)
Purple - Matrons
Dark Grey - Specialist nurse (i.e. practice development nurses, clinical nurse specialists and other specialist practitioners)
Dark Blue - Ward and department sisters/charge nurses
Medium Blue - Deputy ward sisters/charge nurses
Light Blue - Staff nurse
Light Grey - Nursing assistants

Steven

My very sincere thanks Steven, I was trying to figure out the insignia on the left nurses cap, and didn't think of the QARNNS, but of course now see it. I will see if I can get a close up of the badges.

At first I too thought they were sisters, but looking closer in the nurse in red, she does seem to have some indications of age to her face. We'll never know for sure though.

As always, sincere thanks!!!

Terry
