Beds Yeo, officers?
Hi all, just acquired this badge, bi-metal. I have an o/rs badge in gilding metal, I assumed this must be an officer's badge but K & King does not mention an officer's version. Also should it not have lugs or tangs rather than a slider?
Thanks John |

Beds Yeo
I think your badge is other ranks, not an officers.

All other ranks badges are GM, this badge is bimetat.ie the eagle is gilding metal the castle is white metal, which I had assume was an officers badge.
Because of the light it is perhaps no clear that it is bi metal. John |

If it was an officer’s badge it should be in silver & gilt and would normally be die cast on loops.

Would all officers badges be silver and gilt, even in wartime? Going by that,
this must be a fake as according to all reference books other ranks badges were all gilding metal. The badge is clearly old with heavily used and marked slider, the perforations are in the correct place aswell? John |

It says two versions in kk, one in GM and one in GM/WM, I take it officer's would be in the usual Bronzed OSD and Silver & Gilt.
