I have recently bought this T/RE/LANCASHIRE shoulder title with a solid "LANCASHIRE". the T/RE/E. LANCASHIRE shown in Ray Westlake's book also has the word "LANCASHIRE" solid.
Does anyone know why this solid title seems peculiar to Lancashire? Thanks for looking. Rob |

It was a 42nd Division 'thing'.
You find it on TF Manchester Regiment shoulder titles, as well as other regiments in it plus RFA, RAMC etc. Dont know why though. regards
