Default Any Ideas, Please?

A friend has sent this image for ID, but I don't know what the badge is.

Does anyone recognize this badge?

Many thanks for any help.

William

Undoubtably.

The name Captain Greg or Greig rings a bell but cannot remember why at the moment.

Thanks for your response, Simon.

King's? That is, not King's Liverpool?

William
1 May 1881: The Liverpool Regiment (The King's)
1 July 1881: The King's (Liverpool Regiment)
1921: The King's Regiment (Liverpool)
1958: merged

So it never was King's Liverpool as you suggest, but it was The King's (when not using the secondary title) 1881-1921. And also may people will simply call them The King's for short even when meaning The King's Regiment (Manchester and Liverpool) 1958-1968 and The King's Regiment 1968-2006.
