Hi Pembird

#4 has been incorrectly id'd as Indian. It is fact the PJI from Ghana (B&T 266).

Many thanks to Ian B, Craig and Ian H. Very informative.
Numbers 2,5,9,10,12,13,15 and 17 remain to be identified. Of those there is a note suggesting number 5 is some kind of assault troops /grenadiers badge. The red zigzag being made of leather. Regards Bill |

Think I might have solved number 11 on the photo. Dark yellow and black felt diamond - the Nyasaland Volunteer Rifles. Still really struggling with the likes of 5,10 and 13 though.

Hi Bill,
No. 11. Unit flash for the Nyasaland Defence Force. The Nyasaland Volunteer Rifles wore an entirely different badge N.V.R. in dark blue on a yellow background. Zob. |

Hi Zob
Thanks for your comments. I just had a quick look at the Nyasaland Defence Force flash and it appears to be a yellow and dark green diamond. My badge is definitely yellow and black. Regards Bill |

Thanks for that Zob. Always nice to hear from you. Do you by any chance recognize any of the other unidentified badges on the photos? I have about 8 left to solve. Have a good Easter!

For anyone interested I have solved number 5 on the photos. It is a WW2 Czech Army Trade badge for assault troops and grenadiers.
Only numbers 2,10,12,13,15, and 17 remain unidentified. Regards Bill |

#3 is an inter-war/early post ww2 Czechoslovakian (V)ojenska (A)kademie - Military Academy badge.
However, I'd need a closeup to place it in time correctly. #5 if an inter-war Czechoslovakian Army (sleeve) trade badge - grenadier. |

I will try to post a better picture of the Czech badge at some point. Your information is always first class. Regards Bill |
