Help needed
I found these in my "unknowns" box, POW feathers are always a nightmare to me as I'm never sure whether London or Yeomanry.
The first pic has collar badges and the second a cap badge with a slider. Any ideas? Rob |

Rob,
The one with the clipped slider is Denbighshire Hussars Yeomanry, does the lugged POW badge have a serial number stamped on the reverse? Andy |

I have a brass example of the top right badge which I believe is a "Local Company " collar.
Will try and find where I found the identification. Peter

POW!!!
Thanks chaps for the speedy answers, the white metal star and crown is similar to the Surrey Militia or as Peter says local Companies, no doubt the crown changed from QVC to KC as Andrew said.
I did wonder for a start whether the POW with slider was Civil Service Rifles, however, Denbighshire Hussars Yeomanry seems correct, this badge was bought at a car boot sale a fortnight ago, so a recent addition, thanks Andy. The other POW collars elude me at present, but there are probably several units that wore this type of insignia. The white metal badge is probably Indian, but what? Regards Rob |

Hi Rob
The POW plume badges in the first photo could be from various units, British & Colonial. If the one on the right is thick gauge brass, lugs N/S and with a letter and number (eg B/48) hand-stamped on the back then it's actually a cap badge - Duke Of York's Royal Military School, pre 1898. (I think this is probably what Andy was referring to). It looks like it could be that from the front but impossible to say for sure without checking the back. David |

The small POW badge in the first photo front right is a Civil Service Rifles field service cap badge.
