Hi team, I have a question on the image attached. Was this common on the 1st Dragoons badge.

Hello Simon,
I am in no way qualified to give a definative answer on this badge. Looks like the badge has x2 sweat holes,good sign?
Am pretty sure the dimensions of the badge come into play when looking for a genuine badge?
As for your original question ref reinforcement I can't help you

Thanks Tony, yeah I think it's genuine; but the reinforcement was something new to me. I see them on badges where the crown etc has potential to break off. On this badge though I would have thought it wasn't necessary as it's well seated on the top of the badge etc.

Hi Simon, that's exactly the purpose of that particular modification, found on almost all later variants of the badge...
