Hello everyone, I’m seeking some feedback on this badge. It appears more brown in person than in the photos. I’m happy with the quality, weight, and size of the badge overall, however there is some flashing in the voids of the flower that I don’t normally see. Does anyone else have a similar example? I’m not current on the fakes being circulated so for peace of mind I’m looking for feedback.
Cheers, Steve |

Not passing comment on this particular item as it’s not within my field.
But, if that was a British badge I would judge the method of construction here to be casting, and quite crude casting at that with the misaligned and incomplete edges, poor reverse detail and flat-ish look. Coupled with the poor voiding and rough edges around the flower I would be thinking cast copy… but not doubting Bill, if that’s how these were made then they are quite unusual pieces when compared to the British counterparts I collect, which admittedly some Canadian badges are. |

Thanks for the input so far.
Perhaps the photos don’t do the badge justice insofar as the details are quite well defined overall, including the reverse when compared to other unquestionable badges, it’s really only the sloppiness of the voided areas of the flower that I would consider to be poorly done. In contrast, there is a fake cast badge of the same type that I’ve seen currently being sold by British sources and comparatively, it is extremely poor with overall soft details. This badge far exceeds that. Looking forward to more input. |

I think it’s ok too. Looks like there was some sort of problem with the die or the stamping process itself. Otherwise details are crisp as one would expect.

That’s my current belief now too.
Thanks for everyone’s feedback. |
