Researching a relative's awards
I am calling on the help of forum members to try and obtain information pertaining to military service and awards that a deceased relative may have received or been entitled to.
The info gleaned so far is that he served in the regular army, then in a colonial police force, i.e.Shanghai, and suffered as a POW in a Japanese camp. To date a GSM with clasp 'PALESTINE' has surfaced. This was awarded at Shanghai, 11th March 1940. Personal details: 2818501 Pte G. Blackley, 1st Bn The Seaforth Highlanders. Any assistance gratefully accepted GTB |
