Default Canal Zone patch

I recently acquired a Canal Zone South patch (attached). My reference books indicate that the blue "canal" stripe goes from top right to bottom left. This one appears to be well worn but the blue strip goes the opposite way. It would make sense if they were worn in matching pairs. Could anybody possibly confirm this please?

Are you trying to ‘get the rise’ out of somebody?

Is the version with a printed upper case F in the top left (and/or top right) corner confirmed as Fayid Garrison?
