Leics Yeo ORs Cap Badge 1922-28..proof!
Finally ..... photo proof!
The Other Ranks badge worn from 1922 to 1928. Finally proving that "three" varients of the Alberts Crest cover the period 1922-57. National Archives, RACD Records Vol 18, Page 34 : Leics Yeo badge Patt 3620/1922 (Other Ranks) 1. 1922-28 (First Pattern "Tri-scrolled") <--- the most rare of the three and in brass only (no collar badges). 2. 1928-40 (Second varient pattern) - Brass & White metal (Cap = Slider, Collars = N/S loops). 3. 1940-57 (Third varient pattern) - Brass & White metal (Cap = Slider, Collars = N/S loops), the white metal EIIR Coronation "slidered cap badge" being the most rare - large J R Gaunt London makers mark. 255368 Tpr. E WALLS "Ernest" is pictured above in the early 1920s. The "first" tri-scrolled Alberts Crest worn by the Other Ranks.....1922-28.

Quality bit of research there Griff - if we could get clarity and photo proof like this on other badges it would make for a lot less anxiety at times.
Have the day off, cheers Dean. |

Dean, I worked it out 5 years ago.... its taken this long to find that elusive good quality photo to prove it.
The next theory to prove is the two varients of the Officers "I.Y." KK1318...... that might take a little longer
