An image of the extremely rare original Army Cyclist Corps badge fastener, made especially for this Corps.

Another point which may interest members is that the crowns on these badges were specially strengthened so that they could be used as tyre leavers. The badges came with a black rubber badge backing which could also be used for puncture repair.

This one came with the rubber backing, but it was left off the badge for the photo. Wasn't aware of the strengthened crown, thanks for pointing that out.

They also had a Royal Air Force detachment raised on Merseyside, they wore Cyclist Corps Cap badges but there are very Rare Pals type Shoulder Titles:

Quite Scarce too. They only produced badges for one day per year.

Sorry to over-trump chaps but I think you will find that the Australian Cyclist Corps badges with the Kangaroo with 22 spokes wheel is the rarer badge.

Cheers Dean.

Dean,
a Kangaroo with spokes! Now that is rare, all the ones I've seen had paws!

Isnt the fastener a "Quick release" mechanism off a modern racing bike? I used to have them on my bike..... just allowed you to take the wheels off quickly if you had a puncture.

only 95 mins left...the Australian Cyclist Pals battalion equivalents were known as Cobber Cyclists Battalions here and wore a Skippy shoulder title...I am just looking through mine to post a picture for Andy.
