Default IC badge

Driver, Internal combustion - ie motors rather than horses. 1940s period. Possibly unofficial but widely worn.

I see a badge something similar sold on Ebay - the X looks like a spoked wheel

Dave,

The circle and X below the letters IC represents a motor vehicle steering wheel. I have also heard of this badge being worn by the person (NCO) In Command of the Transport Column.

That's great folks - I think thats it

A driver / mechanic trade badge
ww2 sleeve badge.jpg
IC - Internal Combustion
and the X is the spokes of a steering wheel
(the outside of the wheel not quite visible because it's darker)
