RAMC Medical Orderley sleeve badge c.1881 - c.1930's

The yellow thread circle was for junior ranks whereas senior ranks had gilt bullion wire circle.

The volunteer soldiers had white stitching for circle and senior volunteers used silver bullion wire.

During WWI there was an economy version with yellow felt instead of the embroidered yellow thread.
