Evening François, That printed title is for the Corps of Military Staff Clerks, a Canadian unit.

Thank you Bill. Somehow I would have assumed that a Canadian Unit would have had the Canada or Canadian designation included (C.C.M.S.C for Canadian Corps of Military Staff Clerks) and that's why I tought it might be British, but then I guess that it would have been the Royal Corps of......

That is a good question. I am not sure if there was an equivalent corps in the British army. The CMSC was absorbed into the RCASC in 1946.
Canadian units that did not incorporate Canada or Canadian in the title were required to wear the nationality CANADA title below the shoulder title. Last edited by Bill A; 11-02-10 at 02:10 AM. |

No the trade of Staff Clerk was not a Corps in the British Army
British 'Staff Clerks' were part of the RASC till 1965 when they transfered to the RAOC. In 1992 they formed part of the new 'Adjutants General Corps' and was not absorbed by the 'Royal Logistic Corps' in 1993 |

The badge looks awfully new for something that has not been worn since 1946.
